Dorota Szczepańska

A soprano specializing primarily in Baroque and Classical music. She is passionate about performing chamber music while also embracing improvisation and jazz. She has collaborated with renowned artists such as Trevor Pinnock, Howard Arman, Paul Goodwin, Dirk Vermeulen, Paul Esswood, Martyna Pastuszka, Andrea de Carlo, Christina Pluhar, and L’Arpeggiata, singing alongside Céline Sheen, Vincenzo Capezzuto, Topi Lehtipuu, Silvia Frigato, and Rolando Villazón. She performed the role of Ismene in Mozart’s Mitridate, re di Ponto under the baton of Philippe Jaroussky at the Opera Rara festival. She has recorded Ave Maria by Krzysztof A. Janczak with the London Symphony Orchestra, the music for the ballet Stín by B. Martinů with Ian Hobson and Sinfonia Varsovia, as well as numerous other recordings for labels such as NAXOS and ARCANA. She has also contributed to many film and television soundtracks, including The Pleasure Principle by M. Lorenc, Even Mice Belong in Heaven, and Black Sheep by K. A. Janczak. Together with Alon Sariel and Peter Schwebs, she created the Lamento Project, where Baroque music intertwines with popular music.
