We start a new chapter in the history of the International Music Festival “NDI Sopot Classic”. As of 1 October, our group will be joined by Szymon Morus as the Artistic Director of the Festival.

He has become known of not being afraid of conducting even the most difficult work. He fulfils himself perfectly in any type of music. He promotes the latest music through numerus world premieres by cooperating with Polish composers of young generation. He also carries out educational projects for the youngest members of classical music audience. For his achievements, he was honoured with the Pomeranian Artistic Award in 2016. He is the president of the Pomeranian Musica Giovane Society, whose purpose is to cooperate with cultural institutions, groups and individual artists to create joint projects that combine music with poetry, theatre and image. He studied in the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, where he obtained a Doctor’s degree in Music Arts with major in conductorship. Since October 2013, he has been connected with his home university, where he has classes at the Conductorship Department. He gives concerts with most philharmonic groups in Poland. Since June 2023 he has been the First Guest Conductor of the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra of Sopot.
With the last edition of the Festival, the term of Maestro Wojciech Rajski, a conductor, founder and artistic director of the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra of Sopot and an initiator of the festival, which has been a part of the cultural repertoire of the Tricity since 2011, ended. We would like to thank him very much for the last years of our cooperation.
